Termites

Termites are wood-destroying insects that feed on cellulose found in wood and other plant materials. They can cause serious structural damage if left untreated. Termites are found in Salt Lake City, Park City, Heber, Kamas, Midway, Sugarhouse, and surrounding areas, often nesting underground or inside wooden structures where they remain hidden for long periods.

Types of Termites in Utah

Although termites are not as widespread in Utah as they are in warmer climates, they can still cause serious damage to homes and buildings if left untreated. Termites feed on wood and other materials containing cellulose, which means structural components of homes can become vulnerable over time. The most common termite species found in Utah are subterranean termites, which live underground and build hidden tunnels to reach food sources.

Understanding the type of termite present can help determine the best treatment and prevention methods.
